Privacy Policy

PrepPlate ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the PrepPlate app or website, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your email address. You may optionally provide a display name. We use Supabase for authentication; your credentials are handled securely and passwords are never stored in plain text.
Content you create
PrepPlate stores the content you add: pantry items, recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, and cook logs. This data is associated with your account and, where applicable, shared with members of your household.
Usage and diagnostic data
We collect anonymised crash reports and error logs via Sentry to identify and fix bugs. These logs may include device type, operating system version, and a stack trace. They do not contain your personal content.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the PrepPlate service
- To synchronise your data across devices and with your household
- To diagnose crashes and fix technical issues
- To respond to support requests you send us
- To send transactional emails (e.g. email verification, password reset)
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate PrepPlate:

4. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account in the app. Deletion is irreversible and takes effect immediately.
5. Data Security
Your data is stored in a Supabase-managed Postgres database with row-level security (RLS) policies that ensure users can only access data belonging to their own household. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. No security system is perfect, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
6. Children's Privacy
PrepPlate is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to certain processing
- Data portability

8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of PrepPlate after changes constitutes acceptance.
